Value Yourself as an Entrepreneur

Posted by homebiz on Jul 2, 2009 in Uncategorized

In this day and age, most new entrepreneurs just don’t value themselves enough. They have a tendency to put other entrepreneurs on a pedestal because of a perceived level of success.

I read a lot of blogs and message boards where people post questions about avoiding mistakes or what business to start. They’re killing their ideas and dreams before they even launch their company. Dreams often die in the planning phase. Nobody wants to grind anymore. We all want the money and freedom but no one wants to experience the struggle.

Owning a business is about more than having fancy business cards, or an office with employees running around. It’s much deeper than that.

Most people want to take shortcuts and they look at the “gurus” as if they’re David Copperfield. They buy these study courses as if they will be given a magic pill and a 6 figure income will suddenly appear.

The game is deeper than that.

Being an entrepreneur is about having a certain lifestyle and a certain mentality. In order to achieve success, you have to view yourself and your contribution to the world a certain way. You have to really change your life. You have to change the way you look at failure. You have to learn to embrace mistakes and use them as a learning tool.

Even the greatest entrepreneurs experience failures. These failures often lead to other more promising breakthroughs. Successful people have a different outlook and react differently than those who are unsuccessful. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before creating the light bulb. He had a different outlook.

We need to change our outlook. I can go deeper into this topic but this blog would be super long. I will revisit this in future post so be sure to check back in.

Unprecedented Opportunity and Competition

Posted by homebiz on Jun 10, 2009 in Uncategorized

Are you ready to take advantage of the opportunities that await you? In the video below, Jim Rohn talks about unprecedented opportunity and competition. While we are in the midst of some very challenging times, we are also embarking on period in which new business leaders will emerge.

 Are you prepared to receive what you desire?

 If you were suddenly offered that dream job or landed that dream client, are you in a position to accept?

Be honest with yourself. If the answer is no, you need to prepare yourself to seize your opportunity. It’s no coincidence that some people become “overnight” successes. These individuals were ready when their number was called.  Get your mind right, and prepare for your opportunity.

Are you ready to compete?

 There will be competition, but the cream will always rise to the top. The reason only a few make it to the top is because they do the things average people won’t do.  Internet and technology will make it possible for your business to be global even if you run it from your basement.  But you have to offer YOUR talent to the world. It’s ok to learn from the “gurus” but you need to be a leader not a follower. Every one of us is unique and has a story to tell. The only way to compete is to create and invest in your brand (YOU).

Remember, sheep get led to slaughter.

The Force Formula

Posted by homebiz on Jun 10, 2009 in Uncategorized

 Creating momentum in business is the challenge that seems most important to beginning entrepreneurs. It’s a challenge we all have to deal with at one time or another.

I personally go through periods where my business creates incredible momentum and other periods when it needs a kick start. It’s a complicated thing to manage.

In the classic motivational book “Think and Grow Rich” author Napoleon Hill made the famous claim: “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.” Although I’m a big believer in the power of visualization, business success will not be achieved by thoughts alone. In order to achieve any level of business success you must turn those thoughts into powerful forces.

In physics, a force is that which can cause an object with mass to accelerate. The scientific formula for force is

F = m*a

Force = mass times acceleration

In order to create a force you need mass to be accelerated. Therefore in order to create business force you have to put your body into motion. Usually when there is a lull in business, it’s normally caused by a decrease in your activity level.

Starting to see where I’m going with this?

 If you really want to create a huge force in business, you need to figure out a monthly, weekly, and daily plan of action. The bigger the idea, the more consistent the action, the bigger the resulting force will be.

Take the next step in creating your business force by joining our newsletter subscription, located at the top right of this screen.

I’m looking forward to see you there. Welcome aboard.
